2019 Sittella Grand Vintage Blanc de Blanc
Varieties: 100% Chardonnay (Blanc de Blanc)
Region: Pemberton
Tasting Notes
Light to medium colour, with a nougat and toasty, lemon straw like bouquet. The wine is tense, brightly crisp, a high acid palate classically Blanc de Blancs. The palate delivers lemon and oyster brine, with a touch of seasoned French oak nuttiness. This vintage Blanc de Blancs is tightly coiled and will reward further time under cork in your cellar.
Critic Reviews
None available.
Cellaring Potential
Drink now or comfortably cellar for 5-7 years.
Enjoy With
Oysters, Crayfish or other decadent seafood if possible. Otherwise this pairs beautifully with Charcuterie also.
About Sittella
Established: 1998 | Under vine: 25ha | Production: 15,000 dozens
In 2023, Sittella has one of the best Sparkling wine programs in the country. Not bad for a couple, Simon and Maaike Berns, taking a ‘punt’ buying the property after being inspired from their travels through France in the 1980’s.
Sittella is one of only a handful of Western Australian producers that have made a significant investment in sparkling wine production - they have invested in all the specialist equipment and retain multiple vintages of wine (requires a lot of storage) to be able to create a consistently high quality ‘house’ style (like producers in Champagne) sparkling wine year after year.
