About Fervor
Since 1996 Mike has been making cool climate wines in the Great Southern Region of Western Australia. Mike started in 1997 with Plantagenet Wines in Mount Barker, while studying for his Wine Science degree. From 2000 to 2007 he established a small boutique contract facility in Mount Barker (Garlands). In 2007 Mike had the opportunity to head up a new 500T facility in Denmark (Castelli Estate) which was just too good to refuse. He spent the next 14 years with Castelli establishing it as one of the foremost brands in Australia.
In 2020 Mike decided to change direction to pursue new challenges, this includes being Chief Winemaker for Plantagenet Wines and consulting with Rockcliffe Winery. This allowed for the formation of "Fervor". Over 25 years in the Great Southern allowed Mike to form very close relationships with some of the best small vineyards in the region, and it was time to have some fun. Callum has followed Mike into the winemaking world - in 2017 he started in the Great Southern with Rockcliffe Winery. also working abroad in the same year in Croze Hermitage. In 2019 Callum moved to Geelong and started at Lethbridge Wines.
