About Sittella
Established: 1998 | Under vine: 25ha | Production: 15,000 dozens
In 2023, Sittella has one of the best Sparkling wine programs in the country. Not bad for a couple, Simon and Maaike Berns, taking a ‘punt’ buying the property after being inspired from their travels through France in the 1980’s.
Sittella is one of only a handful of Western Australian producers that have made a significant investment in sparkling wine production - they have invested in all the specialist equipment and retain multiple vintages of wine (requires a lot of storage) to be able to create a consistently high quality ‘house’ style (like producers in Champagne) sparkling wine year after year.
