About Batista Estate
Batista is in fact the baptismal name of owner Bob Peruch, a Pinot Noir devotee who followed in his father’s footsteps, planting 1 hectare of pinot noir in Middlesex (Manjimup) in 1993. The well-drained soils are of quartz and ironstone gravel, yields are restricted - 200 dozen only per year!
This is perhaps the pinnacle of Pinot Noir in Western Australia - definitely a wine to lay down and drink when 5+ years of age.
